About RSVP of Delaware County
Established in 1972, RSVP of Delaware County was created with support from ACTION to continue the work of the Older Americans Act in creating programs for retirees. In 1975, RSVP became one of the elite 4% of RSVP programs nationwide to become self-sponsored and incorporated, providing the agency with the ability to create unique programs matching the diverse talents of volunteers with the specific critical needs of the nonprofit community.
RSVP is part of Senior Corps, the premier and largest volunteer agency in Pennsylvania and the United States. When you participate with RSVP you are a member of one of our nation's most effective volunteer organizations.
The RSVP office, strategically located in Media, the county seat, allows staff to gain knowledge and insight into the specific needs of the surrounding communities. RSVP works in partnership with local nonprofit organizations, providing services by addressing their distinct volunteer needs. Additionally, RSVP has created unique programs to respond directly to critical needs within the county.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program of Delaware County offers adults age 55 plus the opportunity to share their time and talents on a regular basis in a variety of settings throughout their communities. RSVP provides volunteer opportunities based on community need and encourages volunteerism where there will be impact on the community.
